Kasan Groupe asked:

Learn from my mistakes, my friends. You cannot find happiness from material objects. Or at least not these ones. I will keep you updated if I ever find something to buy that is guaranteed to make you happy. Although, if I do find it, I might not want to tell you because then everyone will have it and it might not make me as happy if everyone has one. But then again, if it does bring me happiness, it’s probably going to be really expensive so maybe not everyone will be able to afford it and I can still be happy in the knowledge that I am one of the few people to own this special thing that brings me happiness. But enough, here’s the list:

1)  Corvette parts. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wasteful about spending money on corvette parts if they are legit, practical parts but do you want to know what I spend my hard earned gambling earnings on? A LCD monitor for my car. I spend a total of maybe four hours a week in my Corvette so I don’t know why I thought I needed an LCD monitor. I blame MTV Cribs, mostly. This American material culture has taught me that I need to have expensive goods to justify my existence and I bought right into it. I feel embarrassed, ashamed and saddened by my actions. Will you forgive me?

2)  ShamWow! I won’t lie, I was bowled over by the almost hypnotic, persuasive powers of The ShamWow guy. His eloquence, his good looks, his charm, these are all things I respect in a person so I had no choice but to order one hundred ShamWows. They don’t work that great. I could have spent that money and just gotten some cheap disinfectant wipes but they don’t have really great commercials for disinfectant wipes like they do for ShamWow so how am I supposed to be convinced to buy them if they don’t have a YouTube worthy infomercial? Where am I supposed to get my information about what is good if not through the television? If I can’t trust the man in the infomercial at three o’clock in the morning, who can I trust? Let me repeat for emphasis: who can I trust!?

3)  The Complete DVD set of Seasons 1-4 of “Dinosaurs” the TV series. Nostalgia is a fickle mistress. One moment I am pining to relieve my youth. The sad thing is I don’t remember my youth. All I remember is an endless stream of television shows. Sometimes I can’t remember if something really happened to me or if it happened on an episode of “Step By Step.” So one day in a fit of powerful, overriding nostalgia I ordered the full “Dinosaurs” DVD set from Amazon. When it arrived in the mail the next week I had already forgotten all about it. At that point I was too lazy to return it so I unwrapped it and started watching. Like most things I misremember fondly from my past, it was depressing, sad and made me realize why I never went to my high school prom.

4)  A Match.com account. Worst $14.99 a month I ever spent.

Arthur T. Fellon asked:

Intrigued with the notion of a miniature bolide bearing his name, Enzi Ferrari proudly unveiled a diminutive engine late in 1959. The 854, which stood for shorthand the four cylinder 850cc engine. You know this type and line of car well. A replica of the Ferrari 250 line was used in the 1986 film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” In the movie, the replica Ferrari 250 was the characters Cameron Frye’s dad’s car. Interestingly enough the automotive company that produced the replica 250 sports car , was later sued by Ferrari for the unlawful use of the Ferraro logos . Later forcing the replica company to shut down to avoid further legal action and potential financial judgments against itself So much for copying the rich and famous.

The most famous Ferrari 250 of them all was the 250 GTO. Often called the “First Supercar” this led to the radically restyled GTO/64 in 1864 of which only 39 cars were ever built. .

The diminutive 853 went resembled a section of the 250GT’s SOHC V-12 engine right down to the characteristic black crinkle paint on its tiny valve cover.

After several false starts, a prototipo appeared at the prestigious 1961 Turin Automobile show. Called the Mille (for 1000), the petite fastback’s lines were drawn by the then rising Bertone star Giorgetto Giugiaro. No Ferrari badges were evident, but cognoscenti knew Maranello was responsible for the twin Weber, 96 barrel horse power (bhp) one liter engine. The tubular chassis (a miniature Ferrari knockoff) was designed by Giotto Bizzarini himself.

Ferrari himself had no plans to finance the venture. Driving a proptype around enthusiastically, the “old man” sought other partners for that purpose. His well known legendary showmanship worked. Exactly one year later, the little car reappeared at Turin, now badged as a Ferrari ASA 1000GT, sponsored by a trio of well known racing drives - ingegnere Bizzarini and a corporate sponsor.

Yet again after several more false starts, production models finally bowed in 1964. Luckily for American motor vehicle enthusiasts and consumes most of these special little sports cars were destined for the U.S. sports automotive markets. The American Ferrari distributor of the time, Luigi Chinetti offered the little berlinetta at a price of $ 6200. Perhaps at this price point the sports car was unrealistically priced since a contemporary Chevrolet 427 Corvette sold in the region of $ 4500.

Despite an ambitious, Targa Flora racing effort and an overbored alloy Competizione version, called the Berlinetta 411, sales faltered. Prices were drastically reduced to clear the remaining “orphans”. Perhaps fifty to seventy-five ASA 1000GTs, including a few fiberglass-bodied convertibles was built in total. Of this amount thirty two found American homes and registration. The whole venture folded ingnomiously by the year of 1967.

Driven around today in 2008, the midget has a distinctive raspy “bark”. Due to the tubular , independent front suspension and full four wheel disc brakes handling of these now classic Ferrari sports cars has been always been much more than would be considered decent and acceptable for a car of its time and sports motor car vintage and pedigree.

In the end the demise this little jewel of a sports car, the Ferrari “Ferrariana”, was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Detroit’s 60’s “Muscle Cars” were just too powerful with their massive V-8 engines as well as being less expensive for car buyers to purchase or finance.

Maximizing Corvettes

Filed Under corvette | Comments Off

corvette
Daniel Stephens asked:

Corvettes have been one the American made leaders in the sports car industry for over five decades.  While being one of the top performers as a stock vehicle the corvette can be modified for even more performance.  Whether you are looking to improve fuel economy, horse power and or upgrading the look, you can find it if you know where to look.  Once you know what you want and where to get it you can start to have some real fun.

Lets talk about one of the many additions that can be made to a corvette, chips and tuners.   Here are few of the different types of corvette chips and tuners and then we’ll spend some time on what they can do for you.  First there is the DiabloSport Predator, Second is the Superchips Flashpaq and Third are the Hypertech tuners.  These are only a few of the many available.

The DiabloSport Predator is one of the most popular corvette tuners.  It’s handheld design and large display screen make it easy to use.  Corvette owners can expect improved horse power by up to 20 horses and improved drive ability.  With the DiabloSport Predator you can adjust parameters for your specific driving wants and needs, for example:  timing and fuel curves, air/fuel ratio, eliminating skip shift (CAGS), adjusting speed and rev limiter, timing and fuel curves, speedometer for gear or tire size changes, turning fans on/off, turning torque management off and shift firmness.  The DiabloSport Predator simply plugs in under the dash into the OBD-II diagnostic port.  The on screen instructions make it an easy upgrade for just about any skill level of enthusiast.  It is available for both automatic and manual transmissions, and is backed with a limited lifetime warranty.

Next is the Superchips Flashpaq.  The Superchips tuner increases horsepower and torque, is internet updateable, improves fuel economy and has the Diagnostic Trouble Code Reading Capability.  You have the capability to select between two optimized dyno proven calibrations.  Tired of hitting your maximum speed and feeling the engine slow down and then fire back up.  With the Superchips Flashpaq you can override that pesky speed limiter and the RPM limiter.  You can also change the correction of shift points and speedometer for gear swaps.

The final tuner that we will talk about is the Hypertech.  The Hypertech tuners will unlock every ounce of power in your Corvette.  They are custom tuned for your specific year, make, and model and engine.  The Hypertech max energy will increase horsepower by up to 34 horses on the new Z06 corvette’s.

All of these tuners have the ability to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes, which will save some trips to the dealership in the future. Installation on these are all very simple. You just follow the instructions on the screen, wait a little bit while it uploads and do some key cycles and you’re ready to hit the road. In conclusion, all these tuners are going to give better throttle response, will give an increase in fuel economy due to maximized engine efficiency, and are going to make a more complete combustion of the fuel.

Easy money 1

Find an easy race such as a drag or something short that you can win quickly. Win the race and get the money. Go back to the safe house and start the race again. Win the race to get the same amount of money again. Repeat this process as much as desired. This is quite useful when you need that extra bit of power to defeat a blacklist rival, but don’t have the money for a better car or parts.

Easy money 2

Defeat one of the opponents on the blacklist. You will get two marks to use on several different things. Do not use them on the Uniques early in the game. Instead, use them on the middle or the left "Random" choices. They should usually come out to either a large cash bonus or the opponent’s pink slip.

Easy money 3

If you need 2 complete a drag race 2 go against the nxt blacklist racer, finish it then look on the blacklist menu and click on the drag logo and say that you want 2 replay the race and you will get even more money 4 it. Keep doing dis an den get an immense car. cool or what!!!

Easy money 4

$1,000 or $500 for free! (bounty) go to the bounty page and go to the rose wood police station. from there, break through the tool booth and hit the left hand side of the tower. the cop will be blocked and you can go to the safe house and get your bounty.

Easy bounty

Get some cops to chase you, then go to the bus stop. Get on top of the buses and make sure that the front of the car is at the edge of the last bus so that the cops can see you and do not lose you. Keep looking behind you, because the cops will sometimes find a way on top of the buses. When they do get on the buses, just reverse as soon as you see them coming and push them off. Only one cop car will come on top of the bus. Do this for as long as desired. When you want to lose them, just reverse, park in the middle of the buses, and wait until your Cool Down bar fills. The cops will also drive crazy and crash into themselves, giving you extra bounty and bring up your rap sheet rankings on police vehicles immobilized and police vehicles involved.

Squeezing Power From a Corvette

Filed Under corvette | Comments Off

corvette
Daniel Stephens asked:

So a corvette comes with a lot of power on the stock motor. There are a few simple parts that can be added to squeeze out a significant gain in power. By optimizing the air flow that is taken info the engine, the exhaust that is pushed out the back of the car, and the way the engine fuels, significant gains can be made.

The first thing that we’ll talk about Getting air into the engine. The stock filters, although they’ve improved over the year are still fairly restrictive. We have people ask us a lot about the performance drop in filters that just replace the stock filters. In most cases those filters barely have chartable power gains. Their real benefit is that most of them have a million mile warranty, so you only have to worry about cleaning and reusing the filters instead of buying new filters every time you need the service done.  Adding a cold air intake is where the power gain is made. Cold air intakes have high flow filters that are able to take in air from all sides of the filter, instead of just through one side like a flat filter. Most of the time one can expect about 15 hp out of a cold air intake, and when used in conjunction with other parts, like a tuner and exhaust, you actually gain a little more out of each part.

The second thing is an exhaust system. When the engine is running, it has to work to push out the exhaust gasses that are being made by the engine. The less effort the engine has to make to push the exhaust away, the more power makes it to the wheels. Upgrading to a larger diameter exhaust will make the path of the exiting exhaust less restrictive. This makes it easier for the engine to push the exhaust gasses and also relieves engine stress, which will help make things last longer. The aftermarket exhaust are all going to give an aggressive tone. One of the other nice things about upgrading to a less restrictive exhaust is that it will help keep running temperatures down. When you’re running a car hard, things get very hot, so keeping things cool is very important. It will also add about another 15 horse power.

The third and final thing  that we’ll mention is tuning the corvette. A simple hand held tuner that plugs into the OBD-II diagnostic port under the dash, will add 20 or more horse power in under ten minutes. It usually gives the biggest power gain of any of the simple bolt on parts and is the quickest to install. Corvette tuners also come with many other features that make them well worth having. Like the ability to read and clear engine codes. The Diablosport Predator is one of the more popular corvette tuners.

To wrap things up, you can see how a few simple and inexpensive modifications can really give a significant boost in power. As mentioned earlier, when the different items are used together, they have somewhat of a synergistic effect, where you get a little more power out of each item because they are all working together. Not only is power increased, but fuel economy as well….for the times when we can keep our foot off the gas and drive conservatively that is.

Shane Watson asked:

Are you worried about the degrading appeal inside your Corvette want to rejuvenate the look and feel? Well, you can do it at affordable cost. The custom seat covers can provide you the best possible perfection and protection for your original upholstery.

If you have been considering getting the seat covers for a while, you must have some idea about the market trends- the options available, the cost factors etc.  You have seen that there are so many different varieties, colors, patterns and versions available.

There are universal seat covers also available. The universal seat covers are those that are made to fit most of the vehicles. Though these are cheap seat covers but these are loosely fit.

The fitting is very important when it comes to get optimum protection. In order to prevent internal as well as external hazards that damage the original upholstery, the seat covers must fit properly. The custom seat covers such as Neoprene seat covers can provide the perfect covering.

Made of quality certified Neoprene material, the custom made seat covers are highly breathable. The excellent breathability ensures the moisture to come out from inside. Since the water and moisture trapped result in rust and that may damage the interiors of your vehicle.

The seats attract lots of dirt and other pollutants. These have to deal with sun rays and heat as well. Kids and pets also leave unlikely stains on the original upholstery. Friction caused by regular use also result in colorless, dirty and torn seats. If the seats are ugly and damaged, these will diminish the look and feel inside your car. The damaged seats will not provide you with the comfort and pleasure anymore.

Therefore, the best way to prevent these hazards from damaging the original upholstery of your corvette is to get custom made seat covers such as Neoprene seat covers.

History of Tissot Watches

Filed Under corvette | Comments Off

corvette racing
ZaiZhu asked:

Tissot, a Swiss watch company, was established in the year 1853. Charles-Félicien Tissot with his son Charles-Emile set the foundation of this prominent business in the city of Le Locle. Buoyed by an extremely pioneering spirit and a forceful drive for mechanical craft, these two initiators brought in to the watchmaker’s trade a sturdy and skilled company.

All the way through the existence of the Tissot Company, the firm has forever fascinated the thoughts of people across the globe. Right from the very inception, the company possessed technicians and engineers, contributing thoroughly in the growth and development of new innovative watch models. Led by a strong technical team, it incidentally went on to become the first producer of the antimagnetic watch. It also holds the glorious record of being the first to produce plastic watch, the “Rock Watch”, the “Wood Watch” and “T-touch”.

Along with the production of some exemplified “first of its kind watches”, the Tissot Company also has its presence felt in the history of sports. It got its share of fame by participating vehemently in some major sports events: linked with Davis Cup in 1957 as the timekeeper and also took part at the downhill skiing in Switzerland in the 1938. At present, Tissot Company is the authorized timekeeper for various sporting galas: road biking, circuit racing, cycling, ice hockey and fencing. All these sporting affairs call for supreme dependability and correctness; they signify the meticulousness, significance and excellence of the Tissot Company. The company has rejoiced 150th anniversary of its esteemed institution in the year 2003. The Tissot brand, without any doubt, is not only one of world’s most admired ones but also one of the most sought after brands in Switzerland itself.

From the year 1985, the Tissot Company has been attached with the Swatch Group. From the same period onwards, it has been characterized by a networked system of merchants in 140 countries all around the world. Since all Tissot watches are fashioned in Switzerland itself, which facilitates the company to make use of the “Swiss Made” brand. The Company tenders a broad array of products that will catch the attention of both admirers of a pleasant design and enthusiasts of watchmaker’s technology.

In the recent years, the company has transformed itself into a more popular brand than ever. It could well be attributed to its “T-Touch,” expertise. In this unique range of watches, a number of new watches encompass “touch-sensitive navy faces” and comprise compasses, barometers, altimeters and thermometers. Same range of watches has further provided it a boost by featuring in some movies: as in The Cradle of Life and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Those who get gratification by having fine quality watches, admire these traits in Tissot watches. By and large, it is rated as the foremost watch brand that presents high class watches at mid price range. Tissot is on its way to take their sports sponsorship to a towering height by becoming the official timekeeper and partner of some grand sporting events like Olympics and other adventure sports. By sponsoring some big names in the sporting arena, it has already created a niche for itself that cannot be easily taken over by its rivals in the near future.
